This is a local popup, .. (groan!), and it’s been placed here to advertise the fact that you can have your own *free* local WordPress environment to work in: all at the click of a button, and all without the hassle of trying to set up a fully fledged server of your own, which ain’t that easy.
Local servers can break down so easy as well, and at the drop of a hat in some cases: whereby you then have to (read lots of not easy so docs), to then become a uneasy Server Master.

What I can say on the subject of this easy server, is that’s quite frankly brilliant to run and maintain, and with next to no updates required. The software itself is available in Windows Linux and of course the horrid Mac platform. It will also provide you with a very simple local environment to work in: it’s simple, but it’s also simply powerful.

However, there is one very minor downside in using Local, and it’s the horrendous cost of Flywheels hosting packages.

** As of 04/26/2021, I personally don’t think that £13:00, (a month), is a cheap domain starter alternative: as it’s been coyly billed on one (apparently unbias), review site.

You also don’t need one of their hosting packages to use this program for your own sites eventual deployment.

Just use a locally sourced Backup to populate your new site: then employ a free plugin called, ..
Black-Velvet, to thusly change all of the (local) links of your locally crafted pages, posts and images to reflect your new website’s path.

Moving on from that minor downside, setting up the wee-beasty and getting running it is a breeze, but like everything else software wise out there on the wobbly-wide-web, you do need to read the docs: just a little bit to get it the most out of it.

Did I mention that it’s free to use, forever!
