An Indian (bitten note) of concern.

The Time to First Byte on my Indian website, is, (quite frankly) – abysmal.

This fact can be checked with the external link provided above, but for a Starter Hosting plan only costing £12 a year, then (one) really can’t expect perfection on a shared hosting setup like this, especially when considering that sort of brilliant pricing structure.

It really is Horses for Courses.

On Yellow Labs, I’ve personally achieved a load score of (95 / 100) with my hard-coded website.

Further reading: I will increase its speed further, just as soon as I can figure out, .. how to *NOT* load two different jQuery libraries.

For example – WP loads its own by default, but my contact page plugin also loads another one, and that gets flagged up as a loading error!

Done, and the resulting plugin code .. complete with my messy comments; can be found there. Remember – the top secret password to download the file is 1 2 3 4 5, just those numbers on their own.

Note of worth: the rest of the world-wide-wibbly-wobblily speed testing websites found out there, simply try and flog you their own hosting-solutions (and or) SEO tools required to fix your, (supposedly), slow site: when they plainly aren’t as slow as presupposed.

That said: even Yellow-Labs tries to get you to install their own preoperatory WP speed-testing plugin, but over-all; it’s much cleaner to use than the rest.

Epilogue: Watch out for rip-off merchants.
