Book IV

[ Number:- 4 ]

Synopsis:-

The future is what we make it, and our hero’s have finally made all alone, but the dishevelled team still have a gruesome job to do in gathering up the copses and burying the past, even if their own personal god has abandoned them: it needed doing – The trouble is, it now matters little in the grand scheme of things, as time is yet again slipping away from them on the latest dig.

On another deeper level – Sam’s {Deep Knowledge} is still haunting him, and he still hasn’t shared all of it with (all) of his lost team members.

Jane, on that same said level; is the only now becoming aware of what he’s been hiding for all this time, but her own current involvement with the broken team is drawing to a close.

Which is a salient fact that she is only too well aware of, seeing into time itself has its pitfalls, and the gigantic chasm opening up under her own feet has no end of possibilities, mainly her dying a horrible death if she didn’t avoid the sides in her ignominious fall from grace, ..
Allice’s never ending rabbit hole was a breeze by comparison.

As far as the joyous Navigator was concerned, the loss of the excess livestock didn’t bother her much: it was one small loss on the current balance sheet of timely Relic collecting, that she could happily live with. A tiny little subtraction that the calculating woman would even eminently approve of loosing.

All that mattered to Roman was the positive aspect of the Relic collections that had dropped over all of them since their new visitor had arrived. Now, if only she could help dig the current one out, then the mission would be completed even quicker, but Mr Brown was adamant, her place as a woman was standing at the Helm, and well out of eSpace.

There was something about that assumption of her unaspiring womanhood, that greatly bothered the highly competent Navigator, (who also used to be a highly competent Peacekeeper back home as well), but it was probably irrelevant; because her new boss obviously knew best.

If that meant standing at the Nexus ball all day wearing enhanced face make-up, whist also looking beautifully compliant; then that’s the cross that she would bear for the ever admiring man running Ops who was stood next to her, and his compliments on her beauty were flattering, but she didn’t quite understand the constant references of having dinner with him.

[ Official Blurb at the backend.  ]

If things don’t change; then they’ll stay as they are, and that’s simply not an option.

Never-the-less: things might well be looking up, because the Mech’tee, (mechanics in time at the behest of God herself), now have a new master onboard the Acorn time ship, the most revered member of the tCouncil called Councillor Gordon Brown. – And he alone has resurrected the old discredited {Mission Statement}.

The newly invigorated team members coming under his thrall, all agree with the confident accomplished man that it was a good idea; especially so with the team building concept of sleeping alone in the gymnasium, but will it put the team back on track? – Or has time finally run out for all of them.

On another more deeper troubling level for some of the other more resistant group members, there’s the primitives living outside right on the landing site to consider in all this, and that damned volcano simmering away right next to them was a worry.

What wasn’t a concern to some, but an annoying angst in the back of Murry’s mind: was the animals that they’ve just jettisoned on the personal orders of the charismatic leader Councillor Brown.

That fact of abandonment alone kept gnawing away at the large boy’s conscience, and he simply couldn’t understand why Jane had allowed it to happen in the first place, nor why he had even physically shooed it away.

Romana was very happy that that unless livestock had been finally dumped off of her ship, and that list included that damned annoying young cat, and if that volcano out there got it; then she wouldn’t care one little bit. What she cared about was pleasing Mr Brown, and would even do anything for him.

Thanks for reading, Jessica: Praise be the ORI.
